Thomas More College strives to encourage individuals to become actively involved in a wide variety of sports, providing them with the opportunity to participate at their personal level of ability. We believe that a healthy balance between competitiveness, acknowledgement of responsibility and fun is obtained. Every pupil is valued, both by their team-mates and their coach, irrespective of the level of achievement. Our coaches and staff strive to bring the best out of each pupil in all levels of ability. All pupils are given an opportunity to represent the school at matches. Team skills, collaboration and collegiality as well as good sportsmanship are fostered.
We aim to contribute to the holistic experience of our children through exposure to a broad base of sporting experiences. Participation in sport in the Pre-Primary is voluntary.
All activities are run by private service providers and are billed separately, not by the school.
We encourage our Junior Primary pupils to involve themselves in sports activities, and recognise sporting achievements in our school assemblies and in our weekly newsletter. It is our policy that each pupil who attends practices regularly will play matches during the term. A register is kept by each coach to ensure this and a “no practice no play” policy is adhered to (even for top athletes). When a pupil has chosen to take part in a sport, they are encouraged to see that season through, unless a reasonable medical reason is given. Matches for all teams are arranged prior to the start of the season, and should some pupils pull out during the season, it affects the rest of the team who may end up short of team mates.
Activities marked by a * are run by private, outside Service Providers and are billed separately, not by the school.

The focus of the High School is on developing balanced, well-rounded people who are able to participate fully in society. The philosophy underpinning all of our extra mural activities is one of growing key dispositions to live a full and successful life. Dispositions such as resilience¸ truth, integrity, time management, empathy, love and respect are central to the opportunities described below.
