Primary School

Pre-Primary Academics (Crèche - Grade 0)

Our Pre-Primary (Grade 00-0) provides a stimulating environment with an atmosphere of fun and friendship. A theme-based learning approach facilitates guided play, exploration and formal learning experiences that cultivate each child’s interests, enable school readiness and grow good self-esteem. Activities are provided to stimulate teamwork, problem solving and wholesome competition. Playball is offered to Grade 000 and formal Physical Education lessons (including swimming) and Music are introduced from Grade 00. Zulu and Digital Learning is added from Grade 0. Life skills lessons are extended with shows, nature talks and concrete learning experiences. These activities are not only sources of knowledge, but also stir conversation and a sense of wonder, not to mention the belly-aching laughs and happy memories that are created to keep young minds inspired!

Our Crèche (ages 1-3) follows a play-based learning approach that allows children to develop language, numeracy, and life skills at their own pace. Purposeful play-based learning is essential to the success of Early Childhood Development and creates deeper learning experiences that children will remember and internalise. The different levels of learning that play affords, along with the support and care of our dedicated teachers, sets our children up to confidently reach the educational milestones required for Pre-Primary School.

Junior Primary Academics (Grade 1 - 3)

Having acquired all the skills necessary for formal education in Pre-Primary, our Foundation Phase (Grade 1-3) children are ready to confidently take on new challenges and learn more independently. Language and Mathematical proficiency stems from well-researched teaching methods and approaches. Classroom delivery is interactive and stimulates creativity and cognitive tenacity. Our interactive theme-based excursions and shows make learning content come alive. Zulu and Afrikaans are presented as additional languages, and digital learning includes computer literacy and robotics. Our children are encouraged to read for pleasure and spend time in the library once a week – listening to stories and taking about books. Music, drama and various performance opportunities are offered as part of our curriculum and multiple sporting disciplines are presented during PE and after school to discover and extend physical talent.

Senior Primary Academics (Grade 4 - 7)

In the Senior Primary School we build on the academic platform set in our Junior Primary. Pupils’ self-confidence, self-esteem and competence are enhanced, and ease of transition into the High School is facilitated by our well-balanced curriculum and nurturing, professional staff who liaise frequently with their High School counterparts.  Our enrichment and support programmes, and the acquisition of creative and critical higher order 21st century thinking skills equip and inspire each pupil for the future.
