CHRISTIAN PROGRAMMES
Christian Values Embedded in Our Ethos
Our education remains centred on Christian values which form the base of decision-making in an ever-changing world.
Lead Through Christianity
Each phase has a Christian leader who collaborates with teachers and community youth pastors to make Christianity relevant to each pupil’s developmental stage.
This team meets regularly and plans whole-school Christian activities such as the Christian Arts Festival, Thanksgiving Assembly, Carols Service and weekly assemblies across the phases.
Engage with the Community
Pupils are also encouraged to join phase-specific Christian groups, namely:
STIC
High School
JAM
Senior Primary
PATHFINDERS
Junior Primary
Parents Who Pray
We have a diverse group of parents who pray from all phases of the school who meet weekly on a Thursday from 7.30 a.m. until 8.30 a.m. in the Indaba Room (Great House). Everyone is welcome.
Assemblies
At the heart of our Christian ethos, assemblies play a vital role in fostering a sense of community and spiritual growth. Each assembly begins with prayer, providing a moment for reflection and connection with God. Through biblical life lessons, we aim to instil values that guide our students in their daily lives. Hymns and songs are an integral part of these gatherings, creating a joyful and uplifting atmosphere while reinforcing our faith-based principles. Assemblies are a meaningful time for our school community to come together, celebrate shared beliefs, and inspire one another to live with purpose and compassion.
Give Your Child The Best Start
Thomas More College is an independent, Christian-based co-educational school with dedicated and professional staff, offering classes from Grade 0000 to Grade 12. Through a balanced programme of academic, cultural, sporting and community activities as well as a measure of fun, the school prides itself on developing Christian love and self-esteem in children and a moral code as espoused in the Gospel of Jesus Christ, ensuring that they are able to make a meaningful contribution to an ever-changing society. Focus is given to developing and inspiring the whole child and equipping each one with relevant leadership and life skills.
